• Coordinating UNICEF programs' implementation in the southern region of Calabria and Apulia, with the assessment, monitoring, and reporting of the situation of migrant and refugee at disembarkation and in first and second-line reception facilities
• Organizing field visits and monitoring activities to assess reception conditions, protection and GBV risks, particularly for UASC, girls, women, and families

Deployed at Italy Ministry of Interior - Central Direction for Migration, supported the authorities in:

• The management of the centralized information flow of the Reception System at the ministerial level
• The management and the analysis of data concerning allocations of international protection applicants within the national territory, with a special focus on the reception of vulnerable migrants and people with special needs
• Missions to disembarkation areas, to ensure correct application of and advise on disembarkation procedures, first reception procedures, and health and vulnerability screenings, info provision, unaccompanied and separated children (UASC) identification
• Coordination with land borders Prefectures on the management of entering flows, and allocation in the national reception system of asylum-seekers.

• Coordinator of the Migration Area on board of one the quarantine ships established by the Ministry of the Interior for the quarantine period of the migrants arriving by the sea
• Responsible for the effective realization of the activities for migrants, during the mandatory 10 days of quarantine, with a particular focus on the assessment of protection needs and the vulnerabilities (GBV survivors, THB, Child Protection, Family Tracing)
• Coordinated the operations during the embark and disembark of migrants
• Coordinated the daily work plan via schedules, work shifts and people management, supervising 26 staff members among cultural mediators, operators, and volunteers.

• Implemented, as GBV specialist, the EU funded project “Protect” for the prevention of Sexual and Gender-based Violence (GBV) in the context of migration, with a particular focus on UASC unaccompanied in Italy.

• Mapped the support services for GBV survivors in Italy and in the two regions included in the project (Apulia and Calabria) by collecting data of the effectiveness of these services to implement the referral system for vulnerable and GBV's survivors.

• Liaised with relevant stakeholders, institutions, and local NGOs and IOs to share the objectives and the activities of the project.

• Paid regular visits and follow-up to reception centers for UASC and delivered more than 30 info-sessions with more than 300 UASC for the prevention of GBV, through child-friendly tools.

• Identified potential GBV's survivors and other vulnerable groups in need of special treatment and protection.

Developed the info-materials on the prevention of GBV and the available services in Italy and a training package on GBV for different service providers and professionals (social workers, legal guardians

• Coordinator of two Anti-Violence Centers for women and children victims of violence, in the Bari district: responsible for the first contacts with survivors and for the coordination in the emergencies.

• Supported survivors in emergencies: accompanied the GBV survivors in safe facilities, supported them in case of police intervention or hospitalization.

• Responsible for the implementation of empowering programs for women: training course and job-orientation projects.

• Consultant for the implementation of the regional funded project focused on combating trafficking.

• Co-leading interviews with potential GBV survivors living in reception centers or in vulnerable conditions, with a special focus on the victims of trafficking and sexual exploitation.

• Responsible for the special protection and rehabilitation project for trafficking victims.

• Responsible, as GBV specialist, for projects for vulnerable women and minors in and out the shelters.

• Educator for abused minor and children with PTSD (Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder) symptoms.

• Providing first assistance for migrants for the Regional HUB “Centro Mattei”: early identification and protection for minors and pregnant women; providing basic needs as community educator: health screening and first legal aid; assistance during the transit process to second line protection or in temporary reception centers.
