Dario Grassini

I am a third-year Cardiology resident at the University Hospital of Pisa.

I am set to complete my specialization in a year and a half (November 2025) and I already have three years of experience as a medical intern doctor in the Cardiology department in Pisa.

During my training years, I have successfully developed expertise in the following areas:

• Complete cardiac examination.
• Electrocardiography, stress testing, 24-hour Holter monitoring.
• Transthoracic and Transesophageal Echocardiography.
• Color Doppler Ultrasound of peripheral arterial and venous vessels (cerebrovascular, upper extremities, and lower extremities).
• CT scans, MRI, and cardiac scintigraphy.
• Coronary Intensive Care Unit: Management of life-saving emergency procedures such as defibrillation, chest tube insertion, and temporary pacemaker placement. Placing and management of central venous lines and other invasive procedures in ICU patients.
• Interventional Hemodynamics: 50 coronary angiography procedures as first operator (radial and femoral access) , PTCA , PFO , TAVI ,TEER as second operator.
• Interventional electrophysiology/arrhythmology: second operator in several procedures of cardiac elettrostimulation (single , dual chamber and biventricular pacemaker and defibrillators implantation , subcutaneus pacemaker implantation , removal of malfunctioning or infected devices) and electrophysiology ( EP studies , mapping and ablation of Supraventricular arrhythmias (AVNRT , AVRT) , atrial flutter , atrial fibrillation and ventricular tachycardia. )

In addition to my role as a Cardiology resident for approximately 2 years, I have concurrently engaged in the position of an emergency/urgent care physician within the local community, on behalf of the regional healthcare system. In this capacity, my responsibilities include managing medical emergencies of any nature for the resident population in my designated area.

Through this professional experience, I have developed expertise and training in addressing a comprehensive range of medical emergency and urgent care issues that physicians encounter in day-to-day practice within the community.
