During my internship and master’s thesis in the Quality Engineering department at Stellantis, I worked on improving the diagnostic capability of the End-of-Line NVH testing process for manual and dual-clutch transmissions. I analysed noise and vibration signals to identify the root causes of gear whine and misclassification events. The thesis focused on a detection issue affecting the 1st-gear order-track threshold and applied the Six Sigma DMAIC methodology together with statistical and signal-processing techniques. I developed a more robust thresholding strategy based on MAD and multi-objective optimisation, improving stability and reducing missed defects.
