Esperienza lavorativa

PhD Student in Molecular and Regenerative Medicine

UNIMORE
Modena
2023.11 - 2026.07

I am currently pursuing a PhD in the MRM (Molecular and Regenerative Medicine) program at the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia, conducting my research in the laboratory of Prof. Michele De Luca under the co-supervision of Prof. Elena Enzo. My research focuses on investigating the role of irradiated mouse fibroblasts used as a feeder layer for the in vitro expansion of primary keratinocytes intended for clinical skin graft production. The goal of this project is to develop a fibroblast-free culture system that replicates the biological and mechanical properties of the current clinical-grade feeder layer while simplifying the manufacturing process, reducing production costs, and addressing regulatory challenges associated with epidermal graft production. Part of our results are currently in press in Nature Communications. End date: 31st October 2026. Estimated defense date: Beginning of April 2027.
