Gianfranco Cannistra

After completing a professional training program as an electromechanical technician, I began working as a maintenance and repair technician in 1988 for a company based in the Port of Genoa, primarily involved in naval activities. In 1992, I started my own business, which I ran until 2004. During this period, I managed a team of up to 40 employees, executing new projects and maintenance work in the steel industry, including the revamping of bridge cranes and rolling mill lines. In the tertiary sector, we completed large-scale installations for the construction of shopping centers and the offices of major multinational companies, creating spaces with hundreds of workstations.

In 2005, I joined ABB, one of the world's leading companies in the electrical sector, as a Senior Technical Engineer specializing in medium-voltage circuit breakers. During my time at ABB, I received extensive training and gained significant field experience, particularly in the naval industry. As my responsibilities and skills grew within ABB's Marine Division, I took on key roles in managing major retrofit projects for electrical panels in offshore oil and gas installations and shore connection projects for the cruise industry. Notably, I led the first shore connection installations for ships operating in Alaska.

After advancing to the role of Operations Manager at ABB, I left the company in 2016 to establish my own business once again. Since then, my company has continued to support projects for ABB, Saipem, Princess Cruises, and smaller companies in the marine sector. We specialize in maintaining and repairing obsolete ABB products and offer onsite maintenance, repairs, and retrofitting services. Our company has built a strong international reputation and operates globally.
