  • Since 2001 I work as independent consultant. In this long timeframe I supported several customers in the largest variety of size and business. Maintaining a strong link with the garment industry I act as Operation Manager for several clients, organizing and controlling their production and quality assurance process, mainly for Far East productions. My job is not limited in consultancy for the garment industry but also support to corporate organization and strategic thinking for marketing and sales. I've been part of the launch of several new products, not only in textiles and garments. I also held trainings for team building and problem solving, as well supporting clients in company's re-organization to gain efficiency and cost effectiveness through return on investments analysis and optimization of resources.

Factory Operation Manager

  • Company Overview: worldwide leader for motorcycle hard topcases
  • The GIVI Vietnam factory counts about 400 employees and produces about 150.000 motorcycle results and 100.000 motorcycling bags per year for the international market. I've been called because the factory was losing about 300.000 USD/year. After one year of presence and intense work in Vietnam, in 2015 I made possible to reach break-even and positive, increasing, result in the years after. I also re-organized the QA structure of the company lowering the defect ratio down to less than 1,5%, applying also very restrictive procedures for incoming materials and reduced purchase cost significantly. In four years, I completely re-organized the workflow and the production line's structure and management responsibility in order to have efficiency and responsibility clearly assigned to everyone and a process of constant improvement actively monitored.

  • Company profile: Motorcycling high end apparel and accessories
  • I developed and started a complete line of motorcycling apparel, from the conception of the brand to the complete line of products (MOTOINfinito). With a small group of people, I founded a Company to manage this business. The brand, oriented to a niche market, gained a very good reputation for innovation and practical fitness for use, with significant sales for the related market until 2016. The brand MOTOINfinito is still owned by myself, even if, due to my long-term commitments abroad, it is not present on the market anymore.

  • Company Overview: one of the largest European brands in the sportswear business
  • In both experiences I was responsible for the production of about 500.000 garments per year, of which I organized the supply of raw materials both for the external manufacturers as well as for the production facility owned by the companies in other Eastern European countries (Romania and Poland). During the period with Salewa, I also started the new factory in Romania, where I introduced modern management and new guidelines for human resource as well as the logistic and production flows and organization.

  • In this function, focused on the organization of regional teams throughout Europe, I was maintaining contacts with customers and manufacturers, with specific responsibility for solving their technical problems. In this position I contributed to the creation of testing and standardization procedures and the process of ISO 9000 Certification for the Italian headquarters.

  • Responsible for motorcycling and hunting/fishing markets, I set marketing strategies, budget for advertising and promotion, forecast and target for sales. I transferred the customer's needs to the R&D department in order to develop new products and services.

  • I was responsible for the purchase and conversion of a 10.000 sq/mt building for the Italian Corporate Headquarters. I was in charge of project development and budget definition as well as responsible for the transfer of guidelines for logistic support and local needs to the consulting engineering group. Besides general supervision, I was in charge of cost control reporting directly to the CEO. At the end of the remodeling, I organized the headquarters' transfer to the new building and, for several months, I was responsible for liaison with the contractor's for building maintenance and procurement.

  • I organized for the Italian Fabric Division the Corporate Product Support Team and the necessary structure of data base documentation, training and global inter-exchange - both for the apparel and shoe division. As Quality Assurance Manager I started the “customer care” service, defining marketing aspects as well as procedures and policies.

Hobbies and general interests include a love of flying, photography, travel, motorcycling, reading backpacking and skiing. I posses a glider's pilot license and fly my glider at every opportunity. A large part of my vacation is taken up with photography, combined with my love for travel often made on long motorcycle journeys.
