Work History

Postdoctoral Researcher

INFN - Laboratori Nazionali Di Frascati
11.2023 - Current
  • Leading research team investigating the headline measurement of the NA62 experiment at CERN (leader of one of the four physics data analysis working groups).
  • Designed and optimized complex analysis methods and applied these to new petabyte datasets, primarily using a personally written bespoke software framework (c++, python, ROOT, bash).
  • Responsible (in shifts) for multi-million euro detector systems as 24/7 on-call expert at CERN, to diagnose, debug and fix both hardware or software issues and maintain optimal data-taking performance.
  • Writing scientific documentation and research papers (using LaTeX) and presenting at national and international research conferences.
  • Active and productive collaboration with researchers locally, nationally and Internationally.

Senior Research Fellow

CERN
09.2021 - 10.2023
  • Developed new software systems to monitor data collection, ensuring optimal quality. Responsible for the creation of, and training for, a new role monitoring and verifying the data quality.
  • Technical supervision of PhD students. Providing guidance and feedback to enhance learning and transfer advanced technical skills.
  • Lead data analyst for the headline measurement of the NA62 experiment at CERN.
  • Software development (primarily using c++ and ROOT) for the NA62 experiment at CERN.

Post Doctoral Researcher

The University Of Birmingham
02.2021 - 08.2021
  • Co-manager of the working group for the KTAG detector at the NA62 experiment at CERN. As on-site specialist I was responsible for the optimal operations and maintenance of the detector ensuring optimal start-up after 3 years without operation.
  • Training and knowledge transfer for KTAG detector operations (software and hardware).
  • Publication of research papers in high-impact scientific journals, as corresponding author for projects I led/co-led.
