  • Combined Lanxess two major rubber businesses into a new BU yielding to a stronger regional coverage while saving over M$ 100 fixed cost in the process.
  • Created a new organization to effectively manage the new BU which was staffed with experienced leaders to properly tackle the new aggressive business objectives.

  • Functional Chemicals was a M$ 300+ global business involving three product entities including Specialty Plasticizers,Colorants and Phosphorous Chemicals (mainly flame retardants) with four manufacturing facilities in Europe and one in Mexico.
  • Redesigned business model and conducted full blow restructuring involving all functions.
  • Refocused R&D activities to fit the upgraded marketing strategy.
  • 2010 EBITDA ended up 170% above 2008's
