THESIS
Title: The Influence of Fine Arts on Contemporary Design(Term Paper)
Abstract: Western fine arts have had a profound impact on the modes of expression and developmental directions of modern design, encompassing aspects such as content portrayal, creative forms, and artistic concepts. In the face of increasingly complex cultural contexts, contemporary designers continuously draw inspiration from various artistic paintings. Artists' paintings go beyond mere depiction of the world; behind each artwork lies their thoughts and reflections on society. Consequently, contemporary designers incorporate the symbolic elements found within these artworks into their designs, resulting in greater diversity within design works. Such integration not only enhances the appeal of design works to contemporary consumers but also stimulates consumer purchasing power, thus opening up new markets. This article specifically focuses on three Western art movements as case studies to analyze their influence on contemporary design works.

Title: Regeneration of "Memory Weaver" community space and service design - taking ex macello as an example(Term Paper)
Abstract: Sustainable development and urban reconstruction are currently trending topics, characterized by their long-term and complex objectives, presenting new challenges for design. To provide user-centered design solutions, this paper explores the intersection of two disciplines: service design and spatial design. By deepening the integration of these fields, the aim is to generate practical value that can effectively address real-world issues. Using the case study of ex-macello in Milan, Italy, a community marked by challenging living conditions and a lack of residents' sense of belonging, this research investigates local residents through surveys and interviews. Data analysis reveals that the community is divided due to economic disparities, resulting in communication gaps and misunderstandings. Therefore, this project seeks to test a series of interdisciplinary designs under the concept of nurturing the community as a "home" for residents. Through methods such as spatial regeneration and collaborative art, an inclusive space is envisioned to transform the community's environment. The research plan aims to replicate the successful short-term project testing widely for large-scale transformation after validation.

The future development of the old cityInteractive device design of time concept and sensory range (humanistic care)
People today generally believe that the core of bringing positive changes to old communities in the future should involve the construction of more public and service facility systems. However, due to rapid societal development and change, an increasing wealth gap, the proliferation of electronic devices, and a lack of communication among neighbors, among other factors, crime rates are rising within communities. Taking the Corvetto community in Italy as an example, this study conducted a survey in the form of questionnaires among 50 residents aged 10 to 80. It was found that, among the options for improving the community's future, residents prioritized enhancing community security over the conventional notion of constructing more convenient public facilities.
After an in-depth investigation into why community security was prioritized by residents, it was revealed that, firstly, the community had relatively low housing prices, attracting a significant number of immigrants with complex national backgrounds. Language barriers resulting from diverse linguistic backgrounds hindered effective communication among residents. Secondly, the area had a higher incidence of youth crime, leading the study to target children and adolescents aged 10 to 18. The research discovered that the youth in the community had limited access to education, lacked legal awareness, and faced difficulties in communication due to language barriers. Since these young individuals represent the community's future, the project aimed to address their communication challenges by designing 'tools' to facilitate interaction, foster friendships, reduce crime, and ultimately enhance community security.
In the preliminary stages, a simple interactive device was created for testing and obtaining phased feedback from the target demographic. Therefore, when designing the device, factors such as the need for engaging topics, fun elements, and the ability to encourage physical interaction were considered. The intention was to promote interaction among participants and make them feel comfortable engaging with strangers without the fear of awkwardness. The interactive device was placed in a community square from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM, as this timeframe witnessed a significant presence of youth and children. After receiving feedback from 26 participants, it was observed that the interactive device had a certain level of appeal to residents, piqued their curiosity, facilitated interaction, and served as a conversation starter. Consequently, this design was further expanded based on the success of the experimental interactive device, resulting in the development of small to medium-sized public recreational interactive installations.
