Lorenzo Lo Carmine

I am a highly motivated Orthopaedic Surgeon currently completing my residency at the University of Turin, with a strong clinical focus on hip and knee reconstructive surgery. My surgical training is deeply rooted in both prosthetic surgery (primary and complex replacements) and joint-preserving knee surgery. In the latter, I have developed specialized expertise in arthroscopic procedures (ACL reconstruction and meniscal sutures), knee osteotomies for deformity correction, and the comprehensive management of patellofemoral joint pathologies.

Driven by a lifelong passion for Sports Medicine, I have complemented my clinical practice with extensive field experience as a pitch-side physician for professional rugby, focusing on the prevention and management of acute sports injuries. My profile is further strengthened by a solid foundation in Traumatology, acquired through intensive rotations at major Level I Trauma Centers (CTO Turin).

I am an active contributor to the scientific community, with published research in international journals and several presentations at national congresses. Currently, I serve as a First-level Medical Director (Decreto Calabria) at the AOU of Alessandria, where I combine rigorous surgical practice with a commitment to evidence-based patient care.
