Profilo professionale

MSc student in Aerospace Engineering with a focus on fluid dynamics. My core focus lies in the physics of hypersonic flows, particularly high-enthalpy dynamics, shock-boundary layer interactions, and non-equilibrium chemical kinetics. I am dedicated to modeling the complex interaction between plasma sheaths and hypersonic flow fields, which governs both the aerothermal response and the electromagnetic signature of high-speed vehicles. I am now keen to translate this analytical rigor to chemical rocket propulsion and space exploration. I have a strong interest in hybrid systems and energetic materials, and I am eager to contribute my technical skills in test design and validation to the development of propulsion demonstrators.

Esperienza lavorativa

University Intern

Deparment of Industrial Engineering
Naples
2026.03 - 2026.07

Architected a custom simulation framework to evaluate hypersonic electromagnetic signatures, a study leading to a formal publication. Synthesized both literature-derived CFD datasets and high-fidelity simulations generated via Ansys Fluent, integrating them into CST Studio Suite to conduct parametric Radar Cross Section (RCS) studies using advanced Drude-model plasma characterization.

PROJECTS AND PUBLICATIONS

Publication: "Toward Radar Cross Section Prediction in Hypersonic Plasma Environments: A Preliminary Assessment Under Variable Flight Conditions", Proceedings of the International Conference on Fluid Dynamics and Electromagnetic Characterization (2026).

05/2025 – 06/2025, Staged Combustion Cycle Preliminary Sizing, Analysis of propulsive performance and preliminary sizing of a liquid rocket engine using a fuel-rich staged combustion cycle.,

09/2025 – 10/2025, 2D NACA 4412 Airfoil Trailing Edge Separation, Study on turbulence modeling for separated flow over an airfoil, with validation against experimental and high-fidelity reference data.,

02/2025 – 03/2025, Backward-facing step flow, Investigation of flow expansion in a duct with backward-facing step, analyzing the influence of domain geometries and Reynolds numbers.,

10/2024 – 12/2024, Analysis and simulation of aircraft dynamic behavior., The work focuses on the analysis and simulation of aircraft dynamics, with the aim of understanding the behavior of the vehicle under different flight conditions and evaluating its stability and performance.,

07/2024 – 09/2024, Experimental analysis of ceramic diborides in a plasma wind tunnel, The thesis investigates the behavior of sintered ceramic diborides exposed to high-enthalpy flows for potential use in hypersonic thermal protection systems. Experiments were performed in the SPES plasma wind tunnel at Mach 3 and up to 15 MJ/kg, using non-intrusive diagnostics to measure surface temperatures. The work includes a comparative analysis of two material compositions and a preliminary assessment of high-enthalpy effects on their surfaces.
