Dear Hiring Manager
I am writing to express my interest in the Medical Scientific Liaison position focused on atherosclerosis and cardiovascular disease at MSD. With over 20 years of pharmaceutical scientific experience — including approximately 10 years dedicated to cardiovascular and atherosclerosis therapies and recent hospital-based work in immuno-oncology — I bring a strong scientific background, experience in peer-to-peer medical exchange, and proven ability to support Medical Affairs objectives.
In my current role as Hospital Immuno-Oncology Specialist I provide evidence-based scientific information to KOLs and multidisciplinary hospital teams, represent MSD at congresses and local events, and capture scientific insights that inform local strategy.
Previously, at MSD I supported cardiovascular and hospital-use therapies, organized scientific activities, and collaborated closely with internal stakeholders to align activities with the Medical Affairs Plan (MAP). I also hold a Master in Pharmaceutical Management with specific training for MSL and Medical Advisor roles.
I am skilled in interpreting clinical data, communicating complex evidence clearly to scientific leaders and healthcare professionals, and supporting promotional and non-promotional scientific activities including contributions relevant to HTA and formulary considerations. I work effectively with cross-functional teams to identify potential investigators for sponsored or observational studies and to implement locally aligned scientific action plans.
I am willing to travel extensively across Italy to cover the geographic responsibilities of this role. I am enthusiastic about the opportunity to contribute to your Medical Affairs team and to support the scientific value and differentiation of your cardiovascular portfolio.
Thank you for considering my application. I look forward to the opportunity to discuss how my background and skills align with your needs.
Sincerely
Marcella Maiello
