Sustainability has taken on a central role in economic dynamics.

The agri-food sector plays a key role due to its ability to influence numerous objectives of Agenda 2030.

Sustainable production and consumption, food security, the fight against hunger, and agroecology are fundamental issues that require attention.

Promoting a short agri-food supply chain can create positive synergies, fostering traceability, reducing the environmental impact of transportation, supporting local economies, enhancing crop biodiversity, and encouraging eco-friendly agricultural practices.

To enhance the short supply chain, it is important to examine the real benefits and challenges of adopting this model. However, the short supply chain is not always applicable to all companies as it also presents less effective and disadvantageous aspects, such as the horizontal redistribution of value.
