SGH Neonatal and Pediatric Intensive Care Unit is unique Intensive Care which provides care for the sick children from those born premature starting from 25 weeks up to 16 years of age. It provides tertiary care for Newborn babies, older kids, and adolescents.
Our NICU & PICU is equipped with latest and all modern facilities and state of the art equipment’s ventilators with conventional and high frequency ventilation, CPAP machines, Open Care Warmers, Multi-channel monitors, Phototherapy units, Infusion, and syringe pumps.
We have 15 beds in NICU and 11 beds in PICU units, each bed has central oxygen, air supply and vacuum. There is Isolation room on negative pressure for infected babies. Kangaroo mother care and developmental care and provide the positioning aids for keeping the babies comfortable also there’s an isolation room on negative pressure for patient with communicable disease.
· Carried out professional duties in Pediatric intensive care unit (PICU), General Pediatric ward, Neonatal intensive care unit (NICU), Labor ward, postnatal ward, Emergency room and Pediatric outpatients department. At different units I take care of children with variety of diseases. I have great professional skills like ETT insertion, central/PICC Lines and chest tube insertion. Can deal all types of
Ventilation
· Provide regular examinations, care, and treatment for children with minor illnesses, chronic and acute health issues, and development concerns.
· Administer vaccinations to prevent illnesses and disease in infants and children.
· Collect medical records from parents or other caregivers and communicate all treatments and examination results with them.
· Plan and implement medical care programs for physical and mental growth of children
· Provide care for neonates in neonatal intensive care unit and surgical NICU.

· Communication with consultants with update on Admitted patient’s condition, Follow Re-ports and carry out the orders, prepare discharge summaries and counsel the patient when needed
