Vascular access: peripheral IV, umbilical lines, blood sampling, capillary blood gas Central line insertion and management

Leadership of Neonatal HDU & Special Care Baby Unit Discharge planning and parent counseling

Expert management of: RDS, prematurity complications, jaundice, HIE/asphyxia, seizures, metabolic disturbances, NEC, congenital anomalies, feeding difficulties, IUGR/SGA, ROP screening awareness

General Pediatrics (OPD & Ward)

Comprehensive assessment and management of sick children (outpatient & inpatient) Diagnosis and treatment of common conditions: bronchiolitis, pneumonia, gastroenteritis with dehydration, UTI, skin/soft tissue infections

Thorough history, examination, targeted investigations, cost-effective care Leading ward rounds with junior doctors and multidisciplinary team Collaboration with consultants, nurses, and families

Participation in quality improvement and patient safety activities

Emergency Pediatrics

Independent management of high caseload (up to 35 patients/shift) Rapid assessment, stabilization, and treatment of acutely ill children Maintenance of high-quality pediatric emergency care standards Effective team communication and coordination

Contribution to staff continuing medical education

SGH Neonatal and Pediatric Intensive Care Unit is unique Intensive Care which provides care for the sick children from those born premature starting from 25 weeks up to 16 years of age. It provides tertiary care for Newborn babies, older kids, and adolescents.

Our NICU & PICU is equipped with latest and all modern facilities and state of the art equipment’s ventilators with conventional and high frequency ventilation, CPAP machines, Open Care Warmers, Multi-channel monitors, Phototherapy units, Infusion, and syringe pumps.

We have 15 beds in NICU and 11 beds in PICU units, each bed has central oxygen, air supply and vacuum. There is Isolation room on negative pressure for infected babies. Kangaroo mother care and developmental care and provide the positioning aids for keeping the babies comfortable also there’s an isolation room on negative pressure for patient with communicable disease.

· Carried out professional duties in Pediatric intensive care unit (PICU), General Pediatric ward, Neonatal intensive care unit (NICU), Labor ward, postnatal ward, Emergency room and Pediatric outpatients department. At different units I take care of children with variety of diseases. I have great professional skills like ETT insertion, central/PICC Lines and chest tube insertion. Can deal all types of

Ventilation

· Provide regular examinations, care, and treatment for children with minor illnesses, chronic and acute health issues, and development concerns.

· Administer vaccinations to prevent illnesses and disease in infants and children.

· Collect medical records from parents or other caregivers and communicate all treatments and examination results with them.

· Plan and implement medical care programs for physical and mental growth of children

· Provide care for neonates in neonatal intensive care unit and surgical NICU.

· Working in pediatric intensive care unit PICU.

· Providing a wide range of comprehensive primary diagnostic, preventative, and treatment services to patients who experience various acute and chronic diseases and injuries.

· Performing the initial assessment, request and all relevant diagnostic laboratory tests, functional studies e.g. ECG and medical imaging e.g. X-Ray ,

· prescribe necessary treatments and educate patients in disease prevention. More specific description.

· Handling pediatric cases

· Examining and Assessing patients in NICU and the Pediatric patient’s admission

· Attend Normal Vaginal Deliveries and Cesarean sections independently

· Administer care to Critical New Born And all newborns from Birth to discharge

· Collaborate with neonatologist to discuss treatment options and develop Treatment plans

· Experience in handling Preterm Babies, very low birth weight, Low Apgar, Respiratory

· Distress, Meconium Aspiration, Neonatal Infections & Seizures, Hypoglycemia,

· Hyperbilirubinemia and Babies who need oxygen and IV therapy

· Emergency Care to Pediatric patient –Common illness and admitting to hospital when needed.

· Provide best care to pediatric patients, Initial assessment, sending investigation and up-date consultant.

· Management of the patients in a hospital setting providing the best care for them.

· Communication with consultants with update on Admitted patient’s condition, Follow Re-ports and carry out the orders, prepare discharge summaries and counsel the patient when needed

· Administer or order diagnostic test, such as x-ray, electrocardiogram, sonogram, ultra-sound and laboratory tests.

· Perform therapeutic procedures, such as injections, immunizations, and wound care.

· Maintain accurate, detailed reports and records of each patient.
