Matteo Maria Macrì

Research internship at the Institute of Pharmacological Research Mario Negri, aimed at developing an innovative in vitro liver model and related platform testing for a drug for the treatment of Alzheimer's disease.

Thanks to this internship it was possible to acquire important and advanced experiences and skills regarding laboratory research in the preclinical phase, in particular regarding the manipulation of cell cultures and related technologies and equipment.

Technical skills acquired:

• Utilized job-related software to perform descriptive and multivariate statistical analysis of data.
• Adhered to laboratory safety procedures to maintain compliance with quality control standards.
• Assisted scientists by collecting and organizing laboratory data.
• Troubleshot and resolved equipment and process issues.
• Prepared reagents and solutions following standard laboratory formulas and procedures.
• Operated and performed preventative maintenance on laboratory equipment and instruments.
• Analyzed results using analytical software and created reports.
• Completed research, compiled data, and assisted in timely reporting.
• Participated in lab meetings and project presentations.
• Developed new protocols and improved existing laboratory processes.
• Collaborated with research teams to develop project plans aligned with target timescales.
