During both periods, operational duties were carried out as a Deck Cadet, including participation in port maneuvers, bridge watchkeeping and the application of onboard safety procedures.
These experiences led to increased operational autonomy and responsibility, through continuous cooperation with Deck Officers and crew, contributing to the consolidation of professional competencies in the maritime sector.

During both periods, operational duties were carried out as a Deck Cadet, with operations in ports of the Mediterranean Sea, the Black Sea and the Atlantic Ocean.
Duties included participation in port maneuvers, navigation activities in international waters, and cooperation with the crew in complex and dynamic operational environments.
Training and service carried out over recent years with the Auxiliary Coast Guard allowed for active contribution to the protection and preservation of the marine environment.
The experience provided direct insight into issues related to human negligence, pollution and the effects of natural disasters, while developing operational skills in monitoring, prevention and response activities in critical situations.
The “Sailor” project brings on board one of GNV’s vessels students from nautical, tourism and hospitality schools, providing them with an opportunity for education and practical training in the maritime sector.
During the Genoa–Palermo route, students are given the opportunity to carry out onboard training activities for three days, applying the theoretical knowledge acquired.
Tutors from the Auxiliary Coast Guard and the Italian Merchant Marine Academy are responsible for guiding, instructing and supervising the students throughout the entire training programme, ensuring a comprehensive and safe educational experience.

This onboard experience provided the opportunity to develop technical and operational skills in navigation and maritime activities management, thanks to the availability and
professionalism of the crew.
