• Research project: Heterologous expression, purification, and preliminary characterization of Euphorbia characias Latex Peroxidase.
• Research skills: Preparation of cell cultures (media preparation, bacterial transformation, induction, culture pelletting by centrifugation), crude extract production (cells resuspension in lysis buffer, fragmentation in French Press, isolation and handling of the soluble and membrane extracts), fast protein liquid chromatography (basic use of FPLC systems, column equilibration, binding and elution on NiNTA matrixes, separation on size-exclusion chromatography), protein concentration by centrifugation, denaturing electrophoresis, basic knowledge of protein crystallization.
• Research project: Isolation and characterization of RuBisCO from leaves of Nicotiana tabacum.
• Research skills: Crude extract production (destemmed leaves blended in a grinding buffer, filtered, supernatant obtained by centrifugation), preliminary analysis with absorption spectroscopy, fast protein liquid chromatography (basic use of FPLC systems, column equilibration, binding, and elution on anionic-exchange chromatography, separation on size-exclusion chromatography), denaturing electrophoresis.
