  • Overall responsibility for the day-to-day operation, supervision and health and safety of all persons working under my authority and a central figure in the management of the ISSOW (Integrated Safe System of Work) process within my area of responsibility

  • Ensuring that all controls measures have been put in place prior to issuing a permit and conforming the PA fully understands the scope and hazards involved in the task
  • Discuss and approve all isolations with the Isolating Authorities and ensure the isolation is in place prior to issuing permits associated with the ICC
  • Ensuring that worksite visits are carried out before, during and after the performance of each task
  • Maintaining the Long Term Isolation register and ensuring that audits are carried out in accordance with the standards
  • Maintain and update the Locked Open / Locked Closed register and ensuring all permits are in place when required to move a valve out of position as per procedure
  • Validate all lessons learned and audit and carry out coaching as required
  • Liaise with Onshore when required for engineering support for operational reasons
  • Liaise with Production Supervisor and Operations Team Leader during interventions and completions when work is being carried out in a shared area and on well handover and isolations required for interventions and completions
  • Actively participate in the SOC (Safety Observation Conversations) and BOSS (Behavioural Observation Safety System) and ensure any actions identified in these will be addressed
  • Carry out worksite audits and ICC audits and ensure these are recorded in the ISSOW system and all findings discussed and resolved
  • Guide and direct personnel to comply with approved safety procedures in order to prevent incidents on the platform
  • Ensure that the group safety policy is fully implemented and adhered to by all personnel under my authority
  • Achieved Area Authority status within the first 4 months of the new position and have developed the position into an integral part of the operation
