Valentina Marchese

My job consists in different tasks: selling beauty products, in particular fragrances, organising and supplying my department and the store, welcoming customers at the entrance of the store, and making cash operations. Additionally, I follow constant training on the brands I sell in the store.

This association deals with different projects, such as free Italian courses for migrants, a place for homework and an Italian language workshop for children of primary and secondary school and high school, and we help migrants with the documents and the services that are present in the area. Additionally, we also organize multicultural events and awareness campaigns, in collaboration with other association that work in Milan areas.
After the Covid-19 pandemic, we have decided to teach Italian language also online.
My main activities are assisting foreign children with their homework and teaching Italian to foreign adults.

This job consists in direct marketing whose aim is fundraising for the most important NGOs at international level, I worked for WeWorld Onlus, Oxfam, ActionAid and Amref in locations that hosted us in stands.

As a leader, I managed resources that joined the company with constant training.

In addition, I did further training on topics such as leadership, management and resources management.

From February 2024 I followed online the preparation course for MUN (Model United Nations).
Once having been assigned to a Country and the Commission to represent and the topic that had to be discussed, I started to do some research to prepare myself for the conference and for the writing of the Position Paper, the document that must be sent before leaving for the conference.
I represented Eritrea in the General Assembly as a delegate, and I discussed the topic “Exploring National-Level Responses to the Interconnected Challenges of AI and Cybersecurity on a Global Scale” in English with delegates from other Countries all over the world, in formal and informal debates, and, after having created a coalition with the other delegations, I worked on the draft resolution.

In March 2024 I followed some webinars online for Study Mission preparation on the topic “environmental sustainability: how international institutions and private companies interact with new ecological needs”.
During Study Mission I followed meetings with remarkable experts, such as representatives of international organisations, managers, diplomats and visited Geneva Sustainability Center (Hospital University of Geneva), Red Cross Museum, Palais des Nations (United Nations headquarters in Geneva), Philip Morris International, Patek Philippe Museum, World Trade Organisation and World Heath Organisation.
I have also took part in a group work with people from all over the world, which has been presented at the meeting with PMI.

I took part in the project “Volontari per l’Educazione” of Save the Children for the second time, and I have done an online tutoring helping a girl of the secondary school in studying.

In May 2023 I followed an intensive course online for Model EU preparation, which is the simulation of the European Parliament, and I’ve done research and self study on the topic of the simulation, on the party and on the Country I had to represent in Brussels.
During Model EU I represented France and ID party (Identity and Democracy) and I had to negotiate with my party colleagues and with the other Mps according to climate change.
The main aim of this project is to learn more about the functioning of the european institutions thanks to learning by doing method in a 3 days simulation.

In may 2023 I followed some webinars for Study Mission preparation on the topic "climate chance and current geopolitical scenarios".
During Study Mission I visited the institutions present in Bruxelles, such as the European Parliament, the European Committee of the Regions, the Council of the European Union and the European Commission, and I had the opportunity to meet remarkable people, such as politics, diplomats, representatives of the institutions and private companies.
The project and the meetings were focused on climate change and current geopolitical scenarios.

I followed an online course for the MUN preparation from the end of December 2021 until the end of February 2022 and it lasted 36 hours.
I did individual research on the Country, the Commission and the topics that have been assigned to me in order to write the Position Paper.
I got involved in the session of Diplomatic Session at Hilton Midtown Hotel in New York from 3/04 to 7/04 April by simulating political, economic and social mediation processes, mainly in English and talking to students form all the world.
I represented Spain as a delegate in CND (Commission on Narcotic Drugs).

Furthermore, I took part in other activities, such as pre-simulations, conferences and meetings.

I got involved in the project “Volontari per l’Educazione” of Save the Children and I’ve done an online tutoring helping a boy of the secondary school in studying.
I’ve done a compulsory online training of 6 hours before starting the volunteering activity.
Additionally, I took part in other training moments organised by Save the Children and in discussion moments with the educators team during tutoring activity.

I took part in the project to help a student of the secondary school (during mixed teaching due to COVID-19), during COVID-19 pandemic and I carried out my activity two times a week.

In addition, I made preparation activities and individual study for the tutoring and online training managed by a skilled team of Bicocca University of Milan.

I’ve done my internship in all the departments of Mitsui in Milan, such as fashion, chemical, machinery, infrastructures and accounting.
I wrote information in pc (accountability department), I answered to e-mail in English and I took part in audio conference with Japan.
I saw how a trade company works in an international environment.
