I am a Hardware Developer who has experience in all aspects of Printed Circuit Board (PCB) development, from circuit (analog, digital, and sensors interfaces) to layout, prototype, and production development. Moreover, I have experience as a power electronic tester, and developer of standard interfaces in VHDL in a high safety communication system. My colleagues describe me as a responsible collaborator, communicative and result oriented.
Design in VHDL of a full-duplex synchronous converter Ethernet-SLIP to speed up the transmission of messages in BT's proprietary railway communication system, I have developed a new interface Ethernet-SLIP in the OSI Layer 2 and I have tested the communication chain in the OSI Layer 3. The new converter was developed in VHDL using XIlinx Vivado ISE and standard communication protocols. I have simulated the new interface with Modelsim both as a stand-alone component and integrated in the whole VHDL code. I have then tested the new code on a proprietary board with the aid of Xilinx ChipScope PRO.
During the internship I was responsible of testing one of the proprietary boards of the ATE (Automatic Testing Equipment) that has been updated and modified after the End of Life of some of its components. The board includes a variable-voltage/fixed-current system to properly stimulate the element under test in the ATE. I have tested if the updated board behaved as expected and analyzed the operational limits in terms of frequency response and application range (voltage, current).
