• Navigation Assistance: Support in route planning operations, monitoring nautical charts, using navigation instruments, and verifying weather conditions.
• Watchkeeping Duties: Execution of watchkeeping duties on the bridge under the supervision of the officer on watch, with tasks including surveillance and maritime traffic control, monitoring radar instruments, and communication with other vessels.
• Onboard Documentation Control: Collaboration with the officer for managing onboard documentation, such as logbooks, reports of extraordinary events, and verifying compliance with international regulations (SOLAS, ISM Code, etc.).
• Mooring and Unmooring Maneuvers: Active participation in mooring and unmooring operations, handling lines, and coordinating with onboard personnel to ensure safety during these operations.
• Safety and Emergency Procedures: Assistance in implementing and monitoring safety procedures, including emergency drills (abandon ship, firefighting), and checking safety and firefighting equipment.
• Practical Training: Hands-on learning in deck operations and ship management, including radio communications and familiarization with satellite navigation systems (GPS, AIS).
• Supervision of Loading/Unloading Operations: Participation under supervision in loading and unloading operations of cargo, paying attention to safety regulations and ship stability management.
