My role is in charge to:
1)management of parts procurement and definition of integration bench configurations;
2)management of validation plans for vehicle-level integration tests and subsystem-level diagnostics;
3)high-level management reporting about project status.
Following Fiat 500 MHEV project, I've covered Software Platform Leader role and I was in charge of:
1) schedule and release software baseline, in order to always prototype vehicle updated with latest software configuration with all features implemented till then
2) high-level management reporting about software scheduling and issues convergence
3) proactive diagnosis to support each departments in order to solve issues found during tests, as quick as possible
This role was responsible for coordinating requests and specification between Software Engineering department and Manufacturing & Aftersales teams.
My goal was to ensure that the needs and requests, first from Manufacturing and then from Aftersales, were properly integrated with the software design process.
Furthermore, I had to report the progress of activities to senior managers on a weekly basis.
This is the role that has changed my job the most.
I worked for three years at the Tychy production plant in electrical/electronic production support. Specifically, I was responsible for:
1) managing the various activities required by the various departments (diagnostics, updates) on the vehicles produced.
2) updating KPIs relating to the pass or fail rate of the various control checkpoints.
3) reviewing the production process to best integrate the product and the process.
As a Test Engineer, I was responsible for various types of activities:
1) electrical (physical) and electronic (through Ethernet - CAN log) diagnosis of development vehicles for several project (Jeep, Alfa Romeo, Fiat, Maserati)
2) ECU software updates to enable the various departments to perform tests with the latest software
3) Standards test implementation (e.g., key-off current draw standard)
